The message box is optional and you decide what goes in it. Some people describe a dental problem or a health condition there. Please share only what you are comfortable putting in a web form — we will go through any clinical detail properly at your consultation.
The details you give us in that conversation.
With your consent, we use analytics tools that record how the site is used: which sections are viewed, how long people stay, how they arrived, and interactions such as clicks and scrolling. This is collected through cookies — see the Cookies section below.
We do not collect clinical information through this website beyond whatever you choose to put in the message box.
So we can answer your question and arrange an appointment. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
So we can follow up properly and know what was discussed. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running the practice (Article 6(1)(f)).
So we can assess whether we can help and prepare for your consultation. Legal basis: provision of healthcare and management of healthcare services (Article 9(2)(h)), by professionals under a duty of confidentiality.

You can withdraw consent to analytics at any time using the Cookie preferences link. Withdrawing it does not affect anything collected beforehand.
We will not use your enquiry details to send you marketing unless you ask us to.
We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising.
The following providers process information on our behalf, under contract and on our instructions:
Once you become a patient, information may also be shared as set out in the practice's data protection policy — for example with your general medical practitioner, hospital or community dental services, other health professionals involved in your care, and dental insurers or payment plan providers you belong to. Disclosure is always on a need-to-know basis.
In limited circumstances, or where required by law or a court order, information may have to be disclosed to a third party not connected with your care. Otherwise, any disclosure not covered by this notice happens only with your specific consent, and we will tell you where we can.
Some of these providers hold data outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by an appropriate safeguard — either UK adequacy regulations, or the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum. Ask us if you would like detail on the mechanism used for a particular provider.
We have measures in place to prevent personal information being lost, misused, altered or accessed without authorisation. Access is limited to staff and contractors who need it for their work, and they are under a duty of confidentiality. We have procedures for dealing with a suspected data breach and will notify you and the Information Commissioner's Office where we are required to.
You have the right to:
There is no charge, and we will respond within one month. If your request is complex we may need longer, and we will tell you if so.
Some rights work differently for clinical records — for example we cannot always delete records we are required by law to keep. We will explain if that applies to your request.
To make a request, contact the practice manager at info@sbdentalcentre.co.uk or write to us at the address above.
If you move to another dental practice, we may at our discretion loan original x-rays and provide copy notes to that practice on receipt of a written request from them.
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to keep the site secure and, with your consent, to understand how it is used. Choose using the banner on your first visit, and change your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link.
